February 1

6:53 a.m. Officers responded to Camping World, 401 Sycamore Drive, for an activated alarm.

9:30 a.m. Officers observed a vehicle on I-95 that was known to be stolen on I-95 at about the 22 mile marker south bound. Officers attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle fled from the scene. The vehicle eventually stopped at the 18 mil marker south bound. The driver of the vehicle, Clifton Ackerman, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop for a blue light and no driver's license. Ackerman was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

10:23 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on Brandon Cove for an attempted scam.

12:23 p.m. Officers responded to West Main Street for a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered on Johnnie Drive. The incident is under further investigation.

1:05 p.m. Officers responded to Correctional Road for abandoned property.

1:11 p.m. Officers responded to Wendy's, 8480 Grahamville Road, for counterfeit money.

4:23 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Smith's Crossing for a vehicle collision.

6:02 p.m. Officers responded to the Siesta Motel, 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a deceased male in his room. The incident is under further investigation and is awaiting autopsy results.

8:42 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on Old House Road for a larceny. The incident is under further investigation.

10:00 a.m. Officers responded to Subway, 8234 East Main Street, for a report of a male subject sleeping in a truck. When officers arrived they discovered the male to be deceased. No foul play is supected and an investigation is under way.

2:14 p.m. Officers observed a black Dodge Charger to be in excess of the speed limit on Coosaw Scenic Drive. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver of the vehicle, Joshua West McPherson, had a suspended driver's license, provided false information and was in possession of a quantity of marijuana. McPherson was arrested for speeding, driving under suspension, giving false information and possession of marijuana. McPherson was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

2:05 p.m. Officers responded to Dollar General, 8123 East Mani Street, for a shoplifting. An affidavit has been submitted charging Edward Garvin with shoplifting.

2:45 p.m. Officers responded to Dollar General, 8123 East Main Street, for a shoplifting. Charges are pending identification of the female suspect.

11:05 a.m. Officers responded to the Jasper County Detention Center, 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, where Tiffany Shantell Orr Riley turned herself in to law enforcement for outstanding arrest warrants. Riley was charged with providing false information to law enforcement and open container.

11:14 a.m. Officers responded to Dollar General, 8123 East Main Street, for a shoplifting incident. Warrant are pending chrarging Edward Garvin for the offense.

5:29 p.m. Officers responded to McDonald's, 8548 Grahamville Road, for a suspicious person.

7:23 p.m. Officers responded to the 23 mile marker south bound on I-95 for a motorist assist.

January 18

9:49 a.m. Officers responded to Family Dollar, 73 South Green Street, for a shoplifting incident. The suspect, Johnny Mervin, was located a short time later and charged with the offense.

10:23 a.m. Officers responded to Pop's Auto repair, 21 Getsinger Street, for vandalism to a vehicle.

3:39 p.m. Officers responded to Region's Bank, 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a welfare check.

6:22 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Red Drum Street for a physical altercation between a mother and her daughter.

January 15

2:04 a.m. Officers observed an intoxicated subject walking on East Main Street. The subject, Essence Brantley, was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

10:37 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on Brandon Cove for a breach of trust.

3:47 p.m. Officers responded to Grays Highway for a welfare check on a pedestrian.

4:21 p.m. The Jasper County Sheriff's Office encountered Teinge Leroy Howard on a call in their jurisdiction. Howard had an outstanding warrant for shoplifting from an incident on December 4, 2021. Howard was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
