1:01 a.m. A red semi truck was reported as driving recklessly at the 18 mile marker south bound on I-95.

6:44 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on 1st Avenue for a vehicle break in. A handgun was reported as being stolen from the vehicle.

9:39 a.m. Officers responded to a business on West Main Street for a report of a male subject wishing to harm himself. The subject was transported to a local facility for a mental evaluation.

10:43 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on North Green Street for a vehicle break in. The incident remains under further investigation.

12:15 p.m. Officers responded to the Sunoco Station, 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a damage to property to a fuel pump.

3:00 p.m. Officers responded to Grays Highway for a vehicle collision involving three vehicles. One person was transported to a local hospital.

A white Chevrolet Impala was reported as driving recklessly on South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

4:26 p.m. Officers responded to Adams Street for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

January 22

1:01 a.m. Officers observed a Chrysler Sebring traveling above the posted speed limit on Smith's Crossing Road. A traffic stop was initiated for the violation. The driver of the vehicle, Anthony Lee Mervin, Jr., was found to be in possession of a handgun that was not properly being transported. Mervin was arrested for unlawful carry of a handgun and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

1:11 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on McCormack Avenue for a report of a suspicious person walking in a yard.

10:20 a.m. Officers responded to the BP Station, 80 Blue Heron Drive, for a report of a backpack blower being stolen from the bed of a pickup. The incident remains under further investigation.

2:07 p.m. Officers responded to the SCDMV, 407 Live Oak Street, for a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Hardeeville. The incident remains under further investigation.

5:57 p.m. Officers responded to Grays Highway for a report of a male subject laying on the sidewalk. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

7:21 a.m. Officers met with a complainant in reference to their vehicle striking tire debris in the roadway at the 22 mile marker south bound on I-95.

3:54 p.m. Officers responded to Sailfish Circle for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

10:53 p.m. A red semi was reported as driving recklessly at the 14 mile marker north bound on I-95.

4:30 a.m. Officers responded to the 21 mile marker north bound on I-95 for a motorist assist.

11:50 a.m. Officers responded to the 21 mile marker south bound on I-95 for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

5:11 p.m. Officers responded to Piggly Wiggly, 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a report of two suspicious male subjects in the business.

January 10

11:45 a.m. Officers responded to Live Oak Road for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

12:15 p.m. Officers responded to Grahamville Road for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

2:47 p.m. Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center to pick up Andrew Ahlers on an outstanding arrest warrant. Ahlers was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. His charges stemmed from an incident on February 20, 2014, when Ahlers was alleged to have threatened an employee at Boat and RV Megastore, 401 Sycamore Drive.

5:28 p.m. Officers responded to Enmarket, 8250 East Main Street, for a report of two females fighting in the parking lot. Both female subjects were located by officers and placed on trespass notice at request of the manager on duty.

6:24 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Sailfish Circle for a report of a missing child. The child was later located by officers.

January 9

3:13 a.m. Officers responded to the New Hong Kong Restaurant, 8176 East Main Street, for an activated alarm.

9:17 a.m. Officers responded to McDonald's, 8548 Grahamville Road, for a breach of trust committed by an employee. After an investigation, a warrant was obtained charging Alicia Marie Cronch with breach of trust.

1:09 p.m. Officers responded to the parking lot of Harvey's, 8205 East Main Street, for a report of a male subject trespassing in the parking lot. The subject was gone when officers arrived.

January 8

2:15 a.m. Officers responded to the New Hong Kong Restaurant, 8176 East Main Street, for an activated alarm.

11:18 a.m. Officers responded to the Forest Motel, 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, for two tenants refusing to check out of their rented room.

12:26 p.m. Officers responded to Grays Highway near Airport Road for a report of a suspicious male subject walking on the sidewalk.

2:52 p.m. Officers responded to the 22 exit on the north bound side of I-95 for a vehicle fire.

4:56 p.m. Officers transported a subject to Charleston for a mental evaluation.

6:07 p.m. Officers responded to the 21 on ramp on the north bound side of I-95 for a bucket in the roadway.

January 7

4:44 a.m. A green Ford F-150 was reported as driving recklessly at the 28 mile marker south bound on I-95.

5:10 a.m. Officers responded to the New Hong Kong Restaurant, 8176 East Main Street, for an activated alarm.

5:21 a.m. A white Chevrolet truck was reported as driving recklessly at the 14 mile marker north bound on I-95.

12:25 p.m. Officers responded to Dolphin Drive for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

2:48 p.m. Officers responded to Sailfish Circle for a report of a dog running at large.

2:49 p.m. A white semi was reported as driving recklessly at the 15 mile marker north bound on I-95.

Officers responded to Harvey's, 8205 East Main Street, for a shoplifting incident. Jason Beayon was arrested for shoplifting and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

4:23 p.m. An orange semi was reported as driving recklessly at the 20 mile marker south bound on I-95.

4:36 p.m. Officers responded to the Jasper County Council on Aging, 444 Wise Street, for an activated alarm.

5:05 p.m. Officers responded to the EnMarket Station, 8250 East Main Street, for a report of two people loitering. Officers arrived and located two subjects matching the description given to them by dispatchers. The two subjects were in their vehicle and officers detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Officers performed a probable cause search of the vehicle and located a quantity of marijuana. Both subjects were given citations for simple possession of marijuana and released.

7:00 p.m. Officers responded to the KFC, 8146 East Main Street, for a civil complaint.

8:02 p.m. A silver semi was reported as driving recklessly at the 13 mile marker north bound on I-95.

10:09 p.m. Officers observed a Honda Accord with an expired vehicle license as it traveled on Grahamville Road. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and immediately detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered a handgun under the driver's seat. Stephen Lamont Murray, Jr. was arrested for unlawful carry of a handgun and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

12:33 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Shade Tree Street for a runaway juvenile. The juvenile returned two hours after officers took the report.

4:35 p.m. Officers responded to Harvey's, 8205 East Main Street, for a shoplifting incident. The items were returned by the suspect prior to officer's arrival and the business declined to prosecute.

5:13 p.m. Officers responded to the 18 mile marker south bound on I-95 for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

1:56 a.m. Officers assisted the Jasper County Sheriff's Office with a shots fired call on Fordville Road.

6:43 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on North Green Street for a larceny. Warrants are pending identification of the suspect.

8:50 p.m. Officers asssited the Jasper County Sheriff's Office with a suspicious vehicle on Belfield Road.

Officers responded to the Jasper County Detention Center, 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a report of damage being done to the detention center by an inmate. After an investigation, Thomas Christopher Hagan was charged with willful injury to a jail.

January 2

7:46 a.m. Officers responded to the Palms Motel, 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a domestic dispute.

1:40 p.m. A burgandy Ford F-150 was reported as driving recklessly at the 28 mile marker south bound on I-95.

3:18 p.m. An RV pulling a car trailer was reported as driving recklessly at the 17 mile marker south bound on I-95.

3:53 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Shade Tree Street for a report of harassment.

5:34 p.m. Officers responded to Bay Tree Apartments, 107 1st Avenue, for a report of a suspicious male subject in the parking lot.
