9:10 a.m. Officers located Louis Gonzales, arrested him and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center. Gonzales had an outstanding warrant for larceny due to an incident on February 26, 2022, where he was accussed of stealing a cell phone.

10:36 a.m. Officers responded to the 23 mile marker south bound on I-95 for debris in the roadway.

11:40 a.m. Officers met with a complainant at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to stolen checks being cashed. The incident is under further investigation.

February 16 Special Announcement

On February 10, 2022, Investigators with the Ridgeland Police Department received information about a fight that took place at Turpin Park, 901 North Logan Street. Investigators were able to use videos from town cameras and from social media sites that showed the incident. After conducting an investigation, it was determined that Robin S. Washington and Janie Louise Aiken did knowingly and willfully, encourage, aid or cause or to do any act which shall cause or influence a minor to commit an unlawful act. Washigton and Aiken have outstanding warrants for contibuting to the deliquency of a moinor.

7:25 p.m. Officers responded to Beacon of Hope, 11332 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for an activated alarm.

9:20 p.m. Officers responded to Plantation Inn, 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for an assault and battery. The victim refused to press charges.

February 14

12:02 p.m. Officers responded to the Quality Inn, 221 James L. Taylor Drive, for a welfare check.

12:26 p.m. Officers observed Darrell Grayson at the Clock Park at the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard. Grayson had been previously placed on trespass notice for the park. Grayson was arrested for trespassing after notice and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

12:51 p.m. Officers responded to North Green Street for a dog running at large.

5:05 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Smith's Crossing and South Jacob Smart Boulevard for a vehicle collision. One person was declared deceased on scene. Officers continue to investigate the collision.
