5:57 p.m. Officers transported a male subject to a facility in Charleston for a menytal evaluation.

12:15 p.m. A vehicle was reported as driving recklessly at the 9 mile marker north bound on I-95.

3:24 p.m. A vehicle was reported as driving recklessly at the 28 mile marker south bound on I-95.

August 25 Special Announcement

10:30 a.m. Investigators with the Ridgeland Police Department have charged three males with spray paint vandalism due to recent incidents throughout the town of Ridgeland. All three are being charged with 30 counts of vandalism. Two male juveniles are being charged through the Department of Juvenile Justice and an adult male, Alford Lee Scoby, will have warrants issued for his arrest.

August 24

8:50 a.m. Officers responded to the old Jasper School Building, 359 East Wilson Street, for vandalism. The incident remains under further investigation.

11:17 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on McCormack Avenue for a welfare check on a resident.

3:01 p.m. A reckless driver was reported at the 27 mile marker south bound on I-95.

3:21 p.m. Officers responded ot the Siesta Motel, 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a civil matter.

4:22 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Hagin Drive for a welfare check on a resident.

10:40 p.m. Officers responded to O'Reilly's Auto Parts, 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for an activated alarm.

August 23

12:18 a.m. Officers responded to New Hong Kong Restaurant, 8176 East Main Street, for an activated alarm.

4:55 a.m. Officers responded to the BP Station, 80 Blue Heron Drive, for a larceny that occurred in the parking lot. The incident remains under further investigation.

9:41 a.m. Officers observe a white Jeep Cherokee traveling at 105 miles per hour at the 18 mile marker north bound on I-95. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle, Julio Alberto Gastelum, did not have a valid driver's license. Gastelum was arrested for speeding, no driver's license and open container. Gastelum was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. A wrecker from rotation towed the vehicle to their facility.

10:42 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on Captain Bill Road for a welfare check.

11:20 a.m. Officers responded to the Piggly Wiggly, 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, to place a female on trespass notice at request of the business.

12:02 p.m. Officers responded to the BP Station, 80 Blue Heron Drive, for a welfare check on a customer.

6:14 p.m. Officers responded to the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals, 67 West Woodlawn Street, for a welfare check on a resident.

2:44 a.m. Officers responded to Waffle House, 8185 East Main Street, for a report of people arguing in the parking lot.

2:46 p.m. Officers responded to Great Swamp Road for a motorist assist.

2:59 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on East Main Street for a domestic dispute.

4:31 p.m. Officers responded to Frontage Road for a vehicle collsion involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

4:49 p.m. Officers responded to EnMarket, 8250 East Main Street, to assist EMS with a patient transport.

5:31 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Trout Street for an activated alarm.

August 20

10:21 a.m. Officers received a complaint in reference to a reckless driver on Interstate 95. The vehicle, a gray Ford Super Duty, was reported to be traveling south bound and unable to maintain a single lane of travel.

12:21 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Green St and 3rd Avenue in reference to a vehicle collison that occurred. Upon arrival it was determined that a Ford Ranger and a Dodge work van had collided. No injuries were reported.

14:35 Officers responded to a residence on 1st Avenue in reference to a harrassment complaint. Upon arrival the complainant advised she has been having ongoing issues with neighbor. A report was filed for documentation purposes however at this time no charges have been filed.

4:18 p.m. Officers received a complaint of a vehicle on Interstate 95 traveling under the minimum speed of 45 m.p.h. The vehicle was described as a gray 2 door vehicle and had its flashers on. Officers checked the interstate with in their jurisdiction however was unable to locate any such vehicle.

August 19

5:08 a.m. Officers responded to 12008 N Jacob Smart Blvd in reference to an inmate damaging property in a cell

11:59 a.m. Officers responded to 401 Sycamore Dr in reference to a camper motor home being damaged by another vehicle.

7:10 p.m. Officers responded to Interstate 95 near the 21 north in reference to assisting the South Carolina Highway Patrol directing traffic.

8:16 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Adams St in reference to subjects trespassing on the property. No individuals were located on the property.

August 18

08:08 a.m. Officers received a report of a reckless driver traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 95

09:05 a.m. Offcers responded to the Ridgeland Correctional Institution in reference to an abandoned vehicle. An inquiry of the vehicle revealed that it was not stolen. RCI staff was making arrangements to have the vehicle towed from the property

6:00 p.m. Officers responded to 10847 N Jacob Smart Blvd in reference to a collision. A blue Chevy Tahoe and a black F150 were involved in a minor collision with no injuries reported.

7:10 p.m. Officers responded to Interstate 95 near the 21 north bound in reference to a red Ford F150 and an 18 wheeler that were involved in a collision. No injuries were reported

8:33 p.m. Officers responded to the 18 mile marker south on Interstate 95 in reference to a white Toyota that struck tire debris in the roadway causing minor damage.

August 16

10:34 a.m. Officers responded to the 17 mile marker south bound on Interstate 95 in reference to a single vehicle collision. It was determined that a black Honda Accord has slid off the roadway. No injuries were reported

08:21 a.m. Officers responded to 5 Correctional Rd, Ridgeland Correctional Institution, in reference to a subject trespassing on the property. A canvass of the area yielded to person(s) on the

2:55 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on 1st Avenue in reference to a welfare check involving a child who got off the wrong bus from school. Officer's were able to located the child's family with assistance from the Ridgeland Elementary School

6:12 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Woodlawn St in reference to assisting Jasper medic units

8:38 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Main St and Wilson St in reference to a suspicious black male. Upon officers arrival they were advised that the subject was picked up prior to their arrival.

August 15

12:38 a.m. A reckless driver was reported travling north on US17. The vehicle was described as a silver Toyota Corolla that nearly struck several vehicles. Upon stopping the vehicle for driving reckless, officers determined the driver was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The driver, David Pinckney of Bluffton, was arrested and booked into the Jasper County Detention Center.

2:30 a.m. Officers resonded to the area of Green St in reference to a disturbance.

3:30 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on Interstate 95. The caller was unable to provide any specific details.

6:03 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Red Drum st in reference to an assault. Upon arrival the victim declined any medical attention and did not wish to pursue the matter.

August 14

12:28 a.m. Officers responded to 80 Blue Heron Dr in reference to a found back pack

02:37 a.m. Officers responded to 8250 East Main St in reference to welfare check on a fatigued driver.

10:03 a.m. A white Dodge Challenger was reported to be driving north on Interstate 95 at a high rate of speed.

4:52 p.m. A white 18 wheeler was reported drivin south on Interstate 95 in an unsafe manner

8:35 p.m. Officers responded to Mitchellville Rd in reference to a vehicle parked in the roadway.

August 13

1:29 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on South Logan St in reference to harassment

2:49 p.m. Officers responded to 8257 East Main St in reference to a welfare check on a pedestrian. Contact was made witht the pedestrian and everything was determined to be normal.

5:14 p.m. Officers responded to the Sunoco located at 11965 N Jacob Smart Blvd in reference to a white female on the property panhandling for money.

5:23 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Shadetree St in reference to assisting Jasper County Fire Rescue on medical related matter.

9:14 p.m. A reckless driver was reported traveling north on Interstate 95. The vehicle was described as a gray SUV.

12:39 a.m. Officers responded to the 17 mile marker south bound on I-95 for debris in the roadway.

6:54 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on Shadetree Street for a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located a few moments later on Trout Street. The incident remains under further investigation.

8:44 a.m. Officers responded to Scott's Automotive, 495 South Green Street, for larceny of shubbery. The incident remains under further investigation.

12:00 p.m. Officers responded ot the Jasper County School District Office, 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, for a single vehicle collision in the parking lot. No injuries were reported.

10:03 a.m. Officers responded to Old House Road for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

2:16 p.m. Officers responded to Grahamville Road for a welfare check on a pedestrian.

2:28 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on North Green Street for a welfare check on a resident.

4:30 p.m. Officers responded to the Bulloch County Detention Center and took possession of Latausha J. McKinney and transported her to the Jasper County Detention Center. McKinney had an outstanding arrest warrant for breach of trust from an incident while she was an employee at Burger King.

August 4

11:49 a.m. A black Chevrolet Silverado was reported as driving recklessly on Grays Highway.

5:43 p.m. A silver Ford F-150 was reported as driving recklessly at the 28 mile marker south bound on I-95.

10:37 a.m. Officers responded ot J&M Towing, 159 South Green Street, for theft from a motor vehicle. The incident remains under further inevstigation.

6:31 p.m. Officers responded to Sailfish Circle for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

6:45 p.m. Officers responded to the parking lot of B&T's Food Fresh, 8205 East Main Street, for a theft. An individual was meeting a subject to sell a phone and the subject snatched the phone from the individual and fled the scene. The incident remains under further investigation.

August 2

3:19 a.m. Officers responded ot the BP Station, 80 Blue Heron Drive, for a report of a male subject trespassing after notice. Darrell Maurice Grayson was located on the property and officers confirmed he had a trespass notice for the property. Grayson was arrested for trespass after notice and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

4:11 a.m. Officers responded to a residence on West Adams Street for an activated alarm.

5:53 a.m. Officers responded to the 20 mile marker south bound on I-95 for a motorist assist.

8:12 a.m. Officers responded to the 18 mile marker north bound on I-95 for a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

11:12 a.m. Officers met with a complainant at the Town Hall in reference to a child custody issue.

5:15 p.m. Officers responded ot B&T's Food Fresh, 8205 East Main Street, for a report of a suspicious male in the parking lot.

6:00 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Floyd Street to assist EMS.

August 1

4:39 a.m. Officers responded to the Family Dollar, 73 South Green Street, for an activated alarm.

6:09 a.m. Officers responded ot the New Hong Kong Restaurant, 8176 East Main Street, for an activated alarm.

10:26 a.m. An officer was attempting to stop a vehicle on I-95 south bound for a violation when a semi truck swerved at their vehicle almost causing a collision. Officers were able to determine that the driver of the semi intentionally swerved at the officer. The driver of the semi, John Austin Hartley, was arrested for reckless driving and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

11:14 a.m. A white semi was reported as driving recklessly at the 24 mile marker south bound on I-95.

11:29 a.m. Officers responded to the 21 mile marker north bound on I-95 for a motorist assist.

12:58 p.m. Officers responded to the Dollar Tree, 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, to assist the fire department with a dumpster fire.

1:08 p.m. A silver Cadillac Escalade was reported as driving recklessly on South JAcob Smart Boulevard.

1:20 p.m. Officers responded to James L. Taylor Drive for a report of a dog running at large.

1:48 p.m. Officers responded to a residence on Shade Tree Street for a burglary. The incident remains under further investigation.

6:51 p.m. Officers responded to McDonald's, 8548 Grahamville Road, for a report of an open door after the business closed.
